Smile?

Do you ever feel this way? Or are the questions simple and the answers complicated?

With all the bad news lately, I made it a point to find things that make me feel a little lighter in my heart. I don't have much to say, but I do know that life is precious and I hope you can find a few things that make you wear a new accessory from ear to ear this week... your smile.

Goooood morning! You are what you eat, so eat something happy!

Third Sentence... thank God for my kids!!

LOVE AND BEARDS!
Pray for Sam's quick recovery. He needs to focus on becoming a groom and grooming that beard!

Second place in my age group in the Heavenly Smiles Run. Being in heaven must make you smile... so just know there are many angels up there running (without sweating), watching us (and cheering for our accomplishments), and smiling (without hurting).

Ruby Reds

I have been seeing pinterest posts about broiled grapefruits everywhere and we had one on the counter so I decided to try it out. Turns out they're pretty simple, pretty delicious and well they're a pretty ending to a long day.

cut grapefruits in half and sprinkle brown sugar on top

put the halves in a shallow oven safe dish.
I lined mine with aluminum foil for easy clean-up!

set them under the broiler for 8-10 mins, check often to make sure they don't burn

get out some pretty bowls... these are oh so appropriate

 voila! they are done

a simple, pretty dessert to bring in the spring season

OrdiExtraodinary

Daily Dose

I think it is fair to say that most of us don’t live an overly exciting day-to-day life. But what if that could change? I love the saying - "Only boring people get bored." As silly as it sounds, when I make dinner I pretend to be a chef on the cooking network. There I ADMIT it! But, it really spices up the cooking process. When I drive to work at 6:15 in the morning, I pray to God that I can make learning fun for my 22 students and that gets me excited. Pump up the jams and you have a party. Who doesn't want to party before the sun comes up? Do it! I am a big fan in taking those small moments and really living them up.  And why shouldn’t we? I've posted before about the little things I enjoy day to day, but I have come to find more small stuff that tends to thrill me.

Love the moment.
Early morning tea in my favorite mug. See - even our mornings, no matter how early, should be loved and enjoyed.

Surprises!
Planning a surprise party is my favorite! Oh and so is sitting outdoors sipping tropical libations. ;)

(real, old school) neighbors
Neighbors that watch your house when you go on vacation, cut your grass once in a while just because, and hand deliver fresh fruit and vegetables from their garden. It's the little things folks!

Spring = Free Therapy
(and my first tan of the season)

THIS!
No, my town is not the most glamourous, or exciting, but tonight I attended one of the many benefits for this family. And you know what... it gave me chills. More chills than the snow in NYC, more pride than any debate going on in Washington right now, and more excitement than a Saturday night on South Beach. This is the kind of stuff that makes me love where I live and my daily life.

Have an exciting week and don’t forget to stop and enjoy the small, but thrilling, moments!!
